Firehose Flag Dedication – December 10, 2016

firehoseflag

This firehose flag was dedicated at the Christmas Party on December 10, 2016.  The plaque on the back reads:

“Dedicated to the men and women, both past, present and future of the Gifford Fire Protection District. They train for many hours each year for situations that most people would rather avoid. May their service and sacrifice never be forgotten.  Dedicated this 10th day of December, 2016.  Signed by the current firefighters.

Handcrafted from two 1-1/2” firehoses that were disposed of in August of 2016 after failing hose testing, the flag is dyed with fabric dye and is trimmed out with oak trim. The flag currently resides in the front of our meeting room where it will reside for years to come.

The flag was created by hand by Jeremy Crawford.
